Pulau Pef is quite simply one of the most beautiful islands in Raja Ampat. Dripping in lush virgin tropical jungle, the island is just waiting to be explored: spectacular bays, many smaller islets, blue lagoons, white sand beaches, hidden lakes, 'mushroom' outcrops, ancient rock art on karst cliffs, pristine blue-water mangroves, virgin jungle, and incredible variety of exotic birds, monitor lizards and cuscus. The island is surrounded by the world's richest reefs, many varied habitats and a myriad of spectacular dive-sites. The dive resort Raja4Divers is located on Pulau (island) Pef, 48km south of the equator and which lies in the middle of Raja Ampat. Raja Ampat belongs to the province West Papua which is the most eastern province of Indonesia. The resort nestles along a palm fringed, west facing beach, with spectacular sunsets right in front of the bungalows. With only seven bungalows and the unrivalled service levels, it’s one of the most exclusive diving resorts in Raja Ampat and Indonesia. The Activities Pulau Pef is a mini Raja Ampat all in one - meaning that it offers not only world class diving and snorkeling on the house reef and a large variety of dive sites in the general area surrounding the island, but also a host of other exciting activities close to nature - hiking, climbing, kayaking, swimming, sunbathing, walking, imaging, birding or just plain relaxing!
It takes quite a bit of flying and patience to get to Raja Ampat, but it is well worth the time and effort. Generally you will start off with a flight to Singapore, and a further flight on to Ujung Pandang (Makassar) where you will need to overnight. Very early the next morning, another flight onto Sarong and a scenic 3 hour boat ride out to the island of Palau Pef. Keep in mind the boat transfer to the island is only on a Saturday, returning to Sarong on a Friday. On your return you will have to overnight in Sarong before the rest of your return flights home.
